Hard Drive Destruction
It’s not enough to discard a hard-drive by simply deleting or erasing it. Although programs erase data, some just delete the directories on the drive and the actual data remains. This information can be restored, providing access to confidential information believed to be destroyed. The most effective way to ensure the complete removal of data on an old hard drive is to physically destroy it. This means shredding the hard-drive and properly disposing of the particles that remain.
Crown Information Management can provide you with locked containers to conveniently store your hard drives at your location until pick-up. This provides you with an unbroken chain of custody, from the time the hard drives are placed in the locked containers until destruction is completed. Our Service Technicians will remove the locked containers and transport them off site for destruction. You will be issued a document of destruction to verify that the process has been followed and completed from start to finish.
